As someone who is frequently called upon to draw airplanes, I’ve found that one of the most useful tools in my arsenal are Squadron/Signal Publications like the aircraft Walkaround and In Action series popular with model builders. I can never get enough of these books. I’ve been working on some new cartoons for the next Martin Leeuwis aviation cartoon book. (You can learn more about the last book here) I’ve been keeping them under my hat until the book goes to print, but foxes are sneaky by nature, so here’s a peek at one of them…

I normally ink my cartoons by hand and then scan them in the computer for coloring in Photoshop. This cartoon was rendered in color for the book, but I decided to finish inking in the drawing for a keepsake. Enjoy!
