Dehavilland D.H.82 Tiger Moth
Dehavilland built a lot of planes named after moths, the most famous being the Tiger Moth, a cheap and reliable trainer that has been a popular favorite with flying clubs from before the war until today. It was about as maneuverable as a sumo wrestler stuffed in a phone booth, but many flight instructors felt that this quality encouraged decisive piloting among their students. Anyway, it was cheap, and the RAF bought a lot of them, many of which are still flying today.
